The Lok Sabha elections has begun in 58 seats across seven states and one Union Territory (UT). Delhi and Haryana are voting in a single phase. Lok Sabha and Assembly elections are being held simultaneously in Odisha.
In this phase, all ten constituencies in Haryana will cast their votes, alongside the seven constituencies in the Union Territory of Delhi. Uttar Pradesh, with its diverse array of significant constituencies, including strongholds of BJP and INDIA, will also participate in Phase 6.
A voter turnout percentage of 34.37% was recorded in Delhi as of 1 p.m, where polling is underway for its seven Lok Sabha constituencies on May 25. The highest turnout was observed in Northeast Delhi at 37.31%, while the lowest turnout was recorded in New Delhi at 31.66%.
By the end of today, elections will be completed in 486 of the 543 Lok Sabha seats. Polling will also be completed in Haryana, Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. The Election Commission has asked poll officers and authorities to take adequate measure to mitigate the effects of rising temperatures in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh due to a heatwave across north India.
The 2024 Lok Sabha Elections are open to start in seven phases, getting a kick start on April 19. Here’s the list of constituencies up for election on May 25, 2024:
1. Bihar: Valmiki Nagar, Paschim Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Sheohar, Vaishali, Gopalganj, Siwan, Maharajganj
2. Haryana: Ambala, Kurukshetra, Sirsa, Hisar, Karnal, Sonipat, Rohtak, Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, Gurgaon, Faridabad
3. Jharkhand: Giridih, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Jamshedpur
4. Odisha: Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri, Bhubaneswar
5. Uttar Pradesh: Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Phulpur, Allahabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Shrawasti, Domariyaganj, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Lalganj, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Machhlishahr, Bhadohi
6. West Bengal: Tamluk, Kanthi, Ghatal, Jhargram, Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura, Bishnupur
7. Delhi: Chandni Chowk, North East Delhi, East Delhi, New Delhi, North West Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi
